Bach Flower Essences for Animals : An interview with De-Arne King

Simonne: Bach Flower Essences – What are they in a nutshell?

De-Arne: The 38 Bach Flower Essences are a natural and non-addictive approach to help restore negative emotions to the positive, developed by Dr Edward Bach in the 1930’s.

Simonne: How do they work on animals?

De-Arne:  The same as humans, they work on the auric body that surrounds us.  By watching the animals behaviours and emotions I create a remedy to help things such as the stress, boarding, barking, relocating, separation anxiety etc.

Simonne: What’s the difference between human and animal Bach Flower Essences?

De-Arne: There is no difference in the remedies, only the differing emotional states presented.

Simonne: Do you consult for humans too?

De-Arne: Absolutely. We humans are very much like our animals and vice versa except humans can vocalise their emotions and our animals show us by their behaviours.

Simonne: What experiences have you had with animals using the Bach Flower Essences?

De-Arne: I have a client who travels by plane with her cat to a destination that has two resident dogs. The cat was treated with a calming and adjustment blend and settled immediately both with the flight and the new home.  Another cat was presented with an anxiety induced excessive licking, she had no fur on her belly, within the month of using the remedies she had stopped licking and had new fur growing.

Simonne: What is the owner’s feedback that they give you?

De-Arne: I have had some lovely and positive feedback from my clients. When a client witnesses a definite change in the animals’ behaviour they are delighted.

Simonne: How quickly do you notice animal’s responses?

De-Arne: Sometimes it is an immediate response and sometimes it can take up to 12 weeks to change a learned behaviour.

Simonne: Do you work with vets?

De-Arne: Yes, I feel its important for all involved with the animal’s health to know what each other is doing.

Simonne: What happens in a consultation human and animal?

De-Arne: We discuss the needs of the client, decide what type of remedy is best suited, either a small dropper style bottle or a larger spritzer style bottle and then these are posted to the client.

Simonne: Do you have Signature Essences?

De-Arne: Yes, I have created a number of what I call my Signature Essences.

Simonne: What are they for?

  • Home Alone is for animals that are on their own.
  • Barking Mad for those super sensitive dogs.
  • Training Support for those animals that just don’t seem to focus or learn.
  • My Cat House Rules for that aggressive moggy.
  • Meow, Meow, Feed Me Now for the cat that meows constantly until they are fed.
  • 1,2, 3 and Baby Makes 4, a blend to help all adjust to the new addition.

These are just a few of the Signature Blends that I have created.
